How To Perform Plank Jacks

Plank Jacks are a combination of a dynamic plank and jumping jacks - this can be a great as part of a circuit or a finisher to any workout! Works the arms, shoulders, abs and hips.

Level/Difficulty: Intermediate To Advanced

Muscle Group(s): arms, shoulders, core, legs

Equipment: none

Exercise groups: Lower Body Exercises, Full Body Exercises, Lower Body Exercises, Core Strengthening Exercises, Upper Body Exercises, Posture Strengthening Exercises

Coaching Cues:
Push away from floor, lightly jump legs out and in

Before starting:

Stay strong in the shoulders to help support your trunk during this exercise.

Keep your hips and spine relatively stable throughout.

  1. Position yourself in a full plank - on hands and toes.

  2. Keep your chest forward and over your hands the whole time.

  3. Softly hop your feet out and inward repeatedly to perform the plank jack exercise.
